Welcome to Maine Lakes Maine Coons.

We are a small home based hobbiest cattery located in Delavan Wisconsin about 50 miles from Milwaukee Wisconsin, Madison Wisconsin and Rockford Illinois. We are devoted to these wonderful Maine Coon cats and it is very valuable to us not only to promote the popularity, health and personality of the Maine Coon breed but also to ensure that the heritage of this amazing breed of cat is kept and held to breed standards, and to bring tears of joy to the many families who choose to have Maine Coons as members of their families.

Our Maine Coon breeders are from Grand Champion, Regional Winning and National Winning lines.

We are extremely devoted to developing the healthiest Maine Coon lines possible through all of their testing of genetic issues before they are ever used in our program.

Showing our Maine Coon cats actively in CFA provides us with an objective assessment of success of our breeding program to be sure we continue to produce Maine Coons that fit the breed standard.

All breeder cats brought to our home are screened for healthy hearts and hips and tested for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), FeLV (Feline Leukemia), parasites and are DNA tested for the HCM gene mutation (cMyBPC-3) and PKD (polysystic kidney disease, if needed). We also test yearly for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) via ultrasound and Hip Dysplasia (HD). Even though we test our Maine Coons, there are no breeders that can "guarantee" their cats will never develop HCM. HCM is not only a genetic disease, but can also be caused by other illnesses or helth problems. However, we strive to produce the most healthy Maine Coons. 

Health in our Maine Coons is the utmost importance. We strive to make sure we are producing healthy Maine Coons to the best of our ability, so you will be guaranteed a healthy happy pet.
